A coalition of downtown resident associations from the area bounded by Christie Street, Don Valley, College Street, and the CPR rail line/Rosedale Valley will be hosting an information session to learn about recent trends and initiatives, and to exchange ideas on how to better engage with the City and developers in the development process. The Province's Growth Plan means that the City's Official Plan must be revised to meet densification of 200 people and jobs per hectare for areas within 800 metres of a subway station by 2050. City Planning has started working on amendments to the Official Plan that will go to CIty Councillor in Q4 2021, and then must be submitted to the Province before July 2022. Participating will be Councillors Kristyn Wong-Tam (Ward 13), Mike Layton (Ward 11) and City Planning staff from Strategic Initiatives. They will present their draft Official Plan amendments for Downtown densification to the Roundtable, including provisions for Inclusionary Zoning of affordable housing. Members of the Bay Cloverhill Community Association Development Committee will be participating and we invite any interested residents to join us. Attached are more details and the agenda.
