As part of Earth Week, join the Bay Cloverhill Community at the Mayor’s Clean Up Day at 10 am on Saturday April 20th. Meet at the Irwin Street building entrance of Polo 1, 1055 Bay Street. Bags and equipment will be provided. Bring your own gloves and wear comfortable shoes so you can help make our neighbourhood a little bit cleaner!

- Applying for housing and registering for the new MyAccesstoHousingTO system;
- Understanding the choice-based housing offer process and how to express interest.
- Proof of status in Canada for all household members;
- The most recent Notice of Assessment (NOA/2023) for all household members over the age of 16 who are working full or part-time;
- Housing file number.
The 13th annual Bumrun Toronto is a 5k walk/run event at 8 am on Sunday April 28th to raise awareness of colon cancer screening/prevention. Little Bums is a 500 m event for kids up to and including 12 years that starts at 7:40 am. Funds raised go to colon cancer charities, including the Colorectal Cancer Resource & Action Network. The route is Queen’s Park Crescent south to College Street, north on Spadina Road, east on Bloor Street West, south on Bay Street, west on Wellesley Street West before returning to Queen’s Park Crescent West. The Toronto Marathon takes place on Sunday May 5th. The event consists of a marathon, 1/2 marathon walk/run, 10 k run, 5 k walk/run and relay. There are no road closures in the Bay Cloverhill neighbourhood, but expect road closures along the event route from the start area at Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue to the finish line at the Queen Elizabeth Building on the Exhibition Grounds. www.torontomarathon.com
The Ontario Police Memorial Foundation will host the 25th annual Ceremony of Remembrance at the Ontario Police Memorial at Queen’s Park on Sunday May 5th at 11 am. The event will honour police officers who have died in the line of duty, and support their families. The reading of the honour roll starts at 10 am where 5 names will be added to the Memorial. A parade is also scheduled. Street closures from 8 am to 2 pm for Queen’s Park Crescent, Hoskin Avenue, Grosvenor Street, St. Joseph Street and Charles Street adjacent to Queen’s Park. www.ceremonyofremembrance.ca
March for Life is an pro-life rally that will be at Queen’s Park on Saturday May 11th starting at 10 am. There will be a rally and speeches from 10:30 am to noon, followed by a march through downtown Toronto. The event returns to Queen's Park at 1:30 pm for closing remarks that will be completed by 2 pm. www.torontomarchforlife.ca
The Sporting Life 10k happens on Sunday May 12th, starting at 7:30 am at Yonge Street and Davisville Avenue. The route goes south along Yonge Street, west along Richmond Street, south on York Street, west along Bremner Boulevard, then west along Lake Shore Boulevard West where it ends at the Exhibition Grounds/Ontario Place around noon. The goal is to raise over $2 m for Campfire Circle, dedicated to kids and families with childhood cancer. www.sportinglife10k.ca
Doors Open will happen on Saturday May 25th and Sunday May 26th from 10 am to 5 pm. Visitors get complimentary access to interesting and unique private or public buildings in Toronto. The theme this year is “Hidden Histories”. Celebrate Bike Month with Cycle Toronto Bike Day on Thursday June 6th. There will be community and group rides arranged, as well as educational seminars. This year’s goal is for cyclists to discover their neighbourhood one pedal at a time. www.bikemonth.ca
The Run for Women happens on Saturday June 8th. Road closures are in place from 5 am to 11:30 am. 1,500 walkers and runners participate in a 1k Little Steps, 5k walk/run or 10k run in support of the Department of Psychiatry at Women’s College Hospital. The event starts at Women's College Hospital at 76 Grenville Street at 7 am. During the event Surrey Place and Queen’s Park Crescent will be inaccessible. The route is a loop from Bloor Street to Bay Street to St. Joseph Street to Queen's Park Crescent West to Wellesley Street West to Queen's Park Crescent East to College Street to Spadina Avenue. Streets between Bay Street and Queen’s Park Crescent will be closed including: Grosvenor Street, Grenville Street, College Street, St. Mary Street and St. Joseph Street. In addition, southbound Bay Street will be closed from Bloor Street to St. Joseph Street, westbound College Street closed from Queens Park Crescent to Spadina Avenue and northbound Spadina Avenue closed from College Street to Bloor Street. The 10th annual Purple Walk is being held on Saturday June 15th from 12 noon to 4 pm. Epilepsy Toronto hosts the 5 km event to fundraise and raise awareness of their programs and services. The Journey to Conquer Cancer happens on Sunday June 16th starting at Varsity Stadium at 299 Bloor Street West at 8 am. At 10 am, participants walk/run 1, 3 and 5 km routes that pass by Princess Margaret Cancer Centre via Queen’s Park Circle. The route goes south along Devonshire Place, along Hoskin Avenue, southbound on Queen’s Park Crescent West/University Avenue to Edward Street, northbound on University Avenue, west on Orde Street, north on McCaul Street, west along College Street, north on Huron Street, east to St. George Street, south to Hoskin Avenue and north on Devonshire Place. The general area is Bloor/Queen’s Park/University/Dundas/Spadina. All roads will be closed to vehicular traffic. www.journey2conquer.ca
The 14th annual Yorkville Exotic Car Show returns on Father’s Day, Sunday June 16th from noon to 5 pm. The event raises funds for Melanoma Canada. It features luxury vehicles and an interactive graffiti art from Th3 Pink Punk – Diogo Snow. Bloor Street West will be closed from Avenue Road to Bay Street, with portions of Bellair Street and St. Thomas Street also closed. www.yorkvilleexotics.com

The Pride and Remembrance Run operates from 9 to 11 am on Saturday June 29th with road closures from 6:30 am to noon. The 3k walk and 5k run route starts at Church Street and Wellesley Street, goes along Wellesley, then around Queen's Park Crescent East and Queen's Park Crescent West, returning back to the start location. Also included are kid’s 500m and 1k routes along Wellesley. The goal is to raise $350,000 for charities AndThenIWasFree, Durham Alliance Outreach, Rainbow Faith and Freedom, Toronto People with AIDS Foundation and Pride and Remembrance Foundation. www.priderun.org
The Princess Margaret Walk to Conquer Cancer is happening on Saturday September 7th. Thousands of participants will be walking 21 km. The route has yet to be confirmed.

The 25th annual Jesus in the City musical street pageant takes place on Saturday September 7th starting at 12 noon with a rally at Queen’s Park. The parade route moves north to Bloor Street, east to Yonge Street, then west on College Street, returning to Queen’s Park for a concert. www.jesusinthecity.com
The Yorkville Run is scheduled for Sunday September 8th from 9 am to 11 am. This is the 15th year the 5k event is being held. Expect about 1,500 runners to participate, aiming to raise $1m for over 30 Toronto charities. The event starts and finishes in the Jesse Ketchum School Courtyard at 61 Davenport Road. Road closures will be eastbound Davenport Road, southbound Bay Street, westbound Dundas Street and northbound University Avenue/Queen’s Park Crescent East/Avenue Road. www.yorkvillerun.com
The National Police Officers’ Memorial Run is a 460 km relay that starts at the Ontario Police Memorial at Queen’s Park on Thursday September 26th. It ends in Ottawa on Saturday September 28th at the annual Police and Peace Officer’s Memorial Service held on Parliament Hill. The event celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2024 and is a tribute to fallen officers. Expect rolling road closures along University Avenue and King Street. www.npomr.org
The Word on the Street Festival returns to its usual September schedule to take over Queen’s Park Crescent from Bloor Street to Wellesley Street on Saturday September 28th from 11 am to 6 pm and Sunday September 29th from 10 am to 5 pm. The festival commemorates Canadian writing and literacy. Readings from over 100 authors will be featured, as well as an outdoor marketplace. www.toronto.thewordonthestreet.ca
The Ontario Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial is scheduled for Sunday October 6th . The one hour ceremony will start at 1 pm in Frost Plaza at 7 Queen's Park Crescent East (on the north east corner of Queen's Park Crescent and College Street) where the loss of 49 fire fighters will be honoured. www.opffa.org
The Toronto Waterfront Marathon is a 5 km walk at 9 am on Saturday October 19th and half marathon and marathon that runs on Sunday October 20th starting at 8:15 am. There will be likely some local road disruptions in the Bay Cloverhill neighbourhood this year. The route for this year is being finalized. Start time is at Queen Street and University Avenue, The finish will be at Bay Street and Queen Street. University of Toronto holds its annual Service of Remembrance at 10:20 am on Monday November 11th at Soldiers’ Tower in Hart House Circle. U of T alumni, students, faculty and staff who were killed in WWI, WWII and other conflicts are honoured.
