City Councillor Candidates - Ward 11 University Rosedale

Ward 11 University Rosedale was created in 2018 from parts of former Ward 19/20 Trinity Spadina and Ward 27 Toronto Centre Rosedale.  Mike Layton has been the Councillor since 2010 and announced in July 2022 that he would not be participating in the October 2022 election.  ​There are 14 candidates for Councillor Ward 11 University Rosedale in this October's municipal election:

  • Axel Arvizu
  • Michael Borrelli
  • Robin Buxton Potts - was appointed as Councillor for Ward 13 Toronto Centre in June 2022 after the incumbent Kristyn Wong Tam resigned to successfully be elected as the provincial MPP.  Previously Robin was the Chief of Staff for Kristyn Wong Tam.
  • Norm Di Pasquale - was first elected as Toronto Catholic District School Board Trustee in 2018.  He replaced Jo-Ann Davis who held the position from 2010 to 2018.  In 2021, Norm unsuccessfully ran as the NDP candidate for MP of Spadina Fort York. 
  • David Fielder
  • Adam Golding - is associated with Socialist Alliance and Toronto Coalition for Housing, hosts Open Mic at The Mix, former President of The Cognitive Science & Artificial Intelligence Students Association at the University of Toronto.  He believes in police reform. 
  • Andrew Layman - originally registered to run as Councillor in Ward 13 Toronto Centre. 
  • Peter Lovering
  • Alison Pang
  • Ann Rohmer - broadcaster
  • Dianne Saxe - was the Green party candidate for MPP University Rosedale in June 2022 and is the Deputy Leader of the Ontario Green Party.  Dianne is an  environmental lawyer.  She was the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario from 2015 to 2019. 
  • Heather Shon
  • Pierre Therrien
  • Diana Yoon - is a climate activist, housing justice activist, community organizer and renter in downtown Toronto.  She is the Secretary for the Board of the Cecil Community Centre.

The Baldwin Village Community Association will be hosting an in person information session for Ward 11 University Rosedale City Councillor candidates on Monday October 3rd at 6:30 pm.  Each candidate will have 10 minutes to speak.  In addition, each candidate will have a table and will be able to meet voters one on one. There will be a limit of 268 persons for the event.  The event will be held at the Cecil Street Community Centre, 58 Cecil Street.  The location is south of College Street, east of University Avenue.
